Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA)
A Functional Capacity Assessment gives clear, evidence-based information about how a disability affects everyday life. Aligned to the 12 I-CAN domains the NDIS uses, our reports are written to support NDIS access requests, plan reviews, and reassessments, for children from age 6 and for adults.
What an FCA looks at
An FCA documents strengths, functional capacity, and support needs across all areas of daily life, from communication and self-care to learning, relationships, and mental and emotional health. Every assessment is tailored to the person and their referral question, and the report is mapped to the framework the NDIS relies on.

Which assessment is right
Focused FCA
For people who already have a diagnosis and need functional evidence for NDIS planning or a plan review. It documents functional impact across the 12 I-CAN domains using cognitive assessment, adaptive scales, sensory profile, rating scales and structured observation.
Comprehensive FCA
For people whose diagnosis is not yet established or is being queried. It includes everything in the Focused FCA plus presentation-specific diagnostic tools and a formal DSM-5 diagnostic evaluation in the report, all in one document.

How it works
Get in touch
Tell us about the person and whether a diagnosis is already in place.
Service Agreement
Signed electronically before your first session, so NDIS funding can be confirmed and held.
Intake session
One hour, we gather background, confirm the assessment plan and give a written quote.
Assessment sessions
Invoiced one at a time as they happen, so you only pay for work that is done.
Feedback session
Walking you through findings, recommendations and NDIS planning.
Your report
A comprehensive I-CAN aligned report, usually within about three weeks of the final session.
Pricing
Our fees are GST free and calculated at the NDIS maximum hourly rate for clinical psychologists ($252.99 per hour, 2026-27). Each fee covers all sessions, standardised measures, and the full report.
Intake session: $303.59 for one hour, the first session of your assessment, not an extra charge.

Presentations with multiple co-occurring conditions or unusual complexity are quoted individually after the intake session and agreed in writing before the assessment begins. Fees are effective 1 July 2026 and reviewed at the annual NDIS pricing update.
Funding
We work with private-paying, self-managed and plan-managed NDIS clients. As a non-registered NDIS provider, we are unable to see agency-managed participants. The assessment is invoiced session by session, so you only ever pay for work that has been done, and the completed report is released once all invoices are paid.
Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice, or non-attendance, incur a fee of $252.99.
