Psychological assessments for children and teens
A good assessment does more than give a diagnosis. It explains what is happening for your child, why, and what will help. Our assessments are thorough, evidence-based and written in plain language, with clear recommendations you can take to home, school and other professionals.
Who we assess
Our focus is children and adolescents. We assess for autism, ADHD, learning disorders, intellectual disability and giftedness, and can combine areas where that gives the clearest picture.
We also consider young adults and adults on a case-by-case basis, particularly for Functional Capacity Assessments. If that is you, please get in touch and we will let you know whether we are the right fit.

A structured look at attention, activity, impulsivity and behaviour across settings, to understand your child's needs and guide support.
Learning assessment
An assessment of learning and academic skills to identify specific learning disorders and explain why your child may be struggling at school.
Cognitive and giftedness assessment
A cognitive (IQ) assessment to understand your child's thinking and learning profile, including intellectual disability and giftedness.

An assessment typically includes a parent interview, standardised testing with your child, information from school where relevant, scoring and interpretation, and a detailed written report. We talk you through the findings in a feedback session so you leave understanding what they mean and what comes next.
Your report includes
Clear findings, a diagnosis where one applies, and practical, individualised recommendations for home and school.
Assessment fees
Every assessment includes an orientation session, the assessment itself, all test materials, multiple copies of the report, and a feedback session with Gina. You can choose a comprehensive report or a shorter summary report.

Which report do I need?
A comprehensive report includes the full clinical interview, background and developmental history, all assessment data, clinical interpretation, diagnostic evaluation, specifiers and support levels, and tailored recommendations with intervention appendices.
A summary report covers the clinical interview, diagnostic evaluation, specifiers and support levels, and general recommendations. We can help you choose the right one for your purpose, for example for school, NDIS or specialist referral.
Booking and availability
Assessment demand is high, but we keep our diary flexible and new times come up regularly, so there is no long wait. The best way to get a firm date is to give us a call, and we will find you the next available appointment, often sooner than you might expect.
